Tourist Guide Regina
Regina, home to the world famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is the capital of the southern province of Sakatchewan in Canada. It is located 570 m above sea level and used to be the headquarters of the North West Territories. The city, however, remains an important cultural and commercial hub for the region.
The Regina International Airport (which has the label of being the oldest commercial airport in Canada) is located here.
Regina experiences a semi-arid continental climate. Summers are warm with temperatures above 20°C and regular precipitation, especially in the months from June to August. Winters are cold and dry with temperatures falling below 0°C.
The city has a population of 200,000 people (locally termed as ‘Reginans’), making it the twenty-fourth largest municipality in the nation.
