Swift Current: Attractions and more...
The Art Gallery at Swift Current has a collection of art as well as paintings from across Canada and Saskatchewan. The museum holds temporary exhibitions from time to time. There are musical acts held here every six weeks and a three day jazz and rock festival held here in the winter.
The Lyric is the oldest theater built in 1912 and holds a number of functions all through the year.
For those who enjoy playing golf there are a number of courses in the city, namely the Elmwood Golf course, the Sask Landing Golf Resort and the Chinook Golf course.
The Mennonite Heritage Village displays the lifestyle of the early settlers who came to the city. There are authentic antiques and artifacts stored here along with a homestead, a garden and a church.
The city has numerous buildings which symbolize the heritage of the region. These include the Battleford Trail, the Court House, the Central School, the Powley residence, the CPR Dam and the First United Church.
