Yorkton is a city situated near the Manitoba border in the southeast of Saskatchewan in Canada. The city covers a total area of 9.5 sq miles and has a population of 15,038 as per the 2006 census. The city lies near the Manitoba border on the Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway in close proximity from Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
The city gets 45 inches of snow and 15 inches of rain per year.
During winter one can enjoy cross country skiing at Duck Mountain Provincial Park or the ski hills at FortQu'Appelle, which are an hour's drive from Yorkton. Snowmobiling is also a favorite activity here and Yorkton is the perfect place for this as it has huge acres of open land as well as developed trails for the same.
