The original name for Carcross is Caribou Crossing. Carcross is situated in the western part of Yukon, Canada. The population of Carcross was around 200 people in 2001, which has now increased to 431 in 2008, according to the census. The climate is different in different seasons. The temperatures are high during the summers and very low during the winters. The temperature is around 15-25 degree Celsius during summer time, whereas in winter it dips down. The Carcross is a famous fishing and hunting center for people. Mining of silver was also promoted in the area. The number of restaurants and hotels in Carcross is very high. Carcross has a famous history and also a rich cultural heritage. The Golden Spice monument at Carcross is very famous.
