The village of Mayo is a small settlement of people based in the Yukon Territory in the country of Canada. It is based on the area that is comprised by the combination of the Silver Trail and also the Stewart River. This village is the home of the First Nation of Nacho Nyak Dun, which is a community of the people whose primary language is Northern Tutochone. This community means ‘Big River People’ due to the presence of the Stewart River. The people here do not have a source of livelihood so most of them go out in search of jobs. The population was estimated to be around 248 according to the 2006 census. The thing that makes this village noticeable is the Mayo Airport or the Mayo Landing. The climate here is a bit humid but is always extreme. The summers are very hot and the winters are also too chilly. Fishing is carried out in some parts as a source of livelihood. It is an important part of the Beaver Creek and Bushwash Landing areas.
