The Sign Post Forest is another major world famous attraction in this town. This forest was started in 1942 by Carl K. Lindley who was in the U.S. Army. While working on the highway he put up a signboard stating the mileage and showing the way to his hometown. This was later followed by many people and today it has over forty five thousand signs put up with various locations around the world. In close proximity from this place is an Interpretive Centre which provides information about the highway and nearby areas.
