One of the main attractions in Colima are its volcanoes, mainly Nevado de Colima an inactive volcano ideal for mountaineering and camping. The Volcán de Fuego offers a wonderful view, but is still active. The Cuyutlán lagoon is a popular seaside resort, where you can enjoy swimming and fishing. Manzanillo, an active coastal town, offers aquatic sports such as sailing and the renowned International Sailfish Tournament is held here annually. Tecoman, another coastal town is renowned for its beaches and lagoons such as El Real and Pascuales Beaches and Alcuzahue Lagoon.
A well-frequented tourist site is the Cathedral of Colima, constructed in the Neo-classical style. The Churches of San Felipe de Jesusis, El Sagrado Corazón and San José in Colima City are also worth a visit. The Museum of Arts and Popular Culture has a collection of regional costumes and musical instruments from all over Mexico. Another museum, the Museo de las Culturas de Occidente displays archaeological findings and pre-Hispanic items.
