Baja California shares its borders with Sonora and Baja California Sur in Mexico and with the American States of California and Arizona. This peninsula has diverse topography, from deserts to high mountains, cliffs, bays and beaches.
Baja California was home to the indigenous tribes of Cochimí, Kiliwa and Paipai before it was colonised by the Spanish.
