La Paz: Attractions and more...
Playa El Tesoro is a family-friendly beach with its coves offering great fishing and romantic getaways, while the El Tecolote is the most popular beach having water sports and eating joints.
Maximum visitors are drawn to La Paz during January to March to watch the nearly 4,000 Gray Whales making their way to the coast of Baja and mothering their young calves. Whale-watching tours are popular, especially during the Gray Whale Festival which also coincides with the beginning of the ‘whale season’. Also try scuba diving with dolphins while in town.
Complete your sightseeing at the Paseo Alvaro Obregon waterfront. The main Plaza Constitucion will delight you with its quaint pink quartz gazebo and tiled footpaths. Take home souvenirs like seashells and carved wooden art and enjoy the waterfront sights at the same time. Do make sure to taste the fish tacos which are a tasty speciality of Mexico.
