Chiapas is a beautiful state in the southeast of Mexico, full of contrasts, having geographical and cultural variety, natural richness, complex history and also many ethnic groups, making it one of the best and the most attractive tourist destinations in the country. Much of its territory is regarded as a nature reserve, supporting an amazing variety of flowers and it is known as one of the most fascinating places to explore in the world.

Tourist can visit the archeological sites, nature reserves, colonial cities, beaches and two largest rivers, the Usumacinta and the Grijalva. Chiapas is actually an archeologist’s dream come true, with ruins from the Mayan civilization scattered throughout the country. This place is worth visiting for is colorful parrots, wildlife sanctuaries, turtle habitats and much more.

The best time to visit Chiapas is when it’s dry, from November to May, with the clear skies and shining sun. Some can avoid the rain, heavy in the summer months, especially in the months of June and September or May to October.  For those who want to explore the surrounding highlands of San Cristobal de Jas Casas, they can visit in the winter season. Many can visit this place either in rainy season or in dry season from November to April.
