The Emerald of the Pacific has lovely turquoise waters and gold-black volcanic beaches to draw tourists. Leave your bags at one of the many hotels on Manzanillo Bay and head to Santiago Bay for a spot of swimming and other water activities like surfing, popular at the Playa Miramar.
Try deep sea fishing, for which Manzanillo is famous throughout Mexico, or be a part of the international fishing tournament which happens in November.
The Las Hadas Beach offers you a delightful opportunity to scuba dive; you could also just watch the Mexican sunset. The El Centro downtown area has a 2-km-long boardwalk leading to the harbour which has yachts and fishing boats called pangas.
Other tourist attractions include the Jardin, which is a venue for quaint restaurants and shopping. Try spending your money on souvenirs and food at the festive Town Square, where you can watch local musicians perform to an enthusiastic audience at night.
