The main attraction in Culiacán is the Cathedral of San Miguel Árcangel, an eighteenth-century construction. Other noteworthy buildings include the Antique Hospice, a beautiful structure, and the Autonomous University Centennial Building, which houses the social centre.
The Museum of Culiacán houses archaeological exhibits. The Botanical and Zoological garden of Culiacán displays the flora and fauna of the region.
Around Culiacán are the thermal springs of Carrizalejo and Macurimi. Also, visit the Imala Spa nearby, an ideal spot for picnics. There are the picturesque lagoons of Chirigueto, Yameto and Canachi. You could go to the beautiful beaches of Ponce and Las Arenitas.
For those who like fishing, there are the artificial lakes of Sanalona and Adolfo López Mateos. The Sanalona Dam offers a lovely view to the surrounding areas.
