When to visit
Durango is situated to the southwestern part of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The favorable month in Durango is from January to March and from June to early September other than holidays. During the off season, one can find better rates on hotels and on local restaurants. The month of April offer amazing deals on downhill skiing, backcountry skiing, snowcat skiing, dining and lodging. The month of June through September offer peak condition for any summer recreational activities. Most of the summer activities and events are on Memorial Day weekend continuing until September end. Some visit Durango when it’s off season, as it is the best time to visit the city as there are fewer tourists and sightseeing is comfortable. In April, many can come well prepared for camping, hiking and for skiing. It is probably the most famous place for its historic narrow gauge railroad which connects Durango with Silverton. There is so much to see and do in Durango that one day is not enough for any tourist to spend his vacation here.
