Tourist Guide Celaya
Celaya city along with its surrounding municipality is situated in Guanajuato State, Mexico. There are numerous smaller towns around this city like Salvatierra, Tarimoro, Panales Jamaica and others. The town was historically known as the “Golden Door to the Bajio”, for its agricultural, commercial and industrial boom.
Celaya is popular worldwide for its artisinal production of Cajeta, a kind of milk candy. The main icon of this city is the water tower situated in the heart of the city.
For both inhabitants and travelers, places of interests include the Church of Carmen, San Francisco Convent, the Temple de San Francisco, San Agustin Church, and the Theater Juarez amongst others.
The city hosts numerous festivals like the Fiesta de Tierras Negras, the Semana Santa, the Feria del Arboly de la Flor, Muestra Artesanal Celaya, Dia de Muertos, Feria de Navidad to name a few that attract tourists from a far.
