Acapulco has something to suit every taste and budget and offers a range of activities for the whole family. The main attraction of the bay are its more than twenty beaches, each with a distinct atmosphere, where you can choose your favorite water sport. Enthusiasts will find ample opportunities for sports fishing, diving, water skiing and snorkeling. There are also several ecological areas that are ideal for picnics and horse riding, as well as golf courses and tennis courts.
Acapulco is a wonderful place for shopping in stores that combine luxury with comfort. It also boasts a variety of restaurants offering everything from regional to international cuisine. The port’s nightlife is intense and extremely diverse, offering something for every taste. Its state-of-the-art facilities also make Acapulco an ideal business venue. Acapulco is located 326 km away from the Federal District along the Auto-pista del Sol, and 411 km away by the old federal highway no. 95. It also boasts an excellent international airport.
Acapulco’s nightlife has something for everyone and its illuminated glass porches are now legendary. The discotheques, dance halls and bars are designed for all sorts of people wishing to have a good time. Many of these establishments have a panoramic view of the bay.
If the idea of riding along a long sandbar between the Pacific Ocean and the Tres Palos Lagoon appeals to you, then you will enjoy renting horses on the wide Barra Vieja beach. Another attractive beach for horseback riding and enjoying the intense sunset is Pie de Cuesta.
Pie de la Cuesta: Beautiful beach 10 km northeast of Acapulco facing the open sea. The powerful waves are ideal for surfing. You can ride along the beach enjoying the magnificent sunsets.
Puerto Marques: Small bay nestling in mountains covered with tropical vegetation. Its waters are suitable for all kinds of aquatic activities, such as snorkeling, diving and sailing. Pony treks recommended.

Acapulco Beaches: Acapulco Bay has a score of delightful beaches. Some have gentle, friendly waves, like Caleta and Caletilla, others have moderate waves like La Condesa while still others have rough waves in the open sea like El Revolcadero, but all of them are extremely beautiful.

Caleta: Perhaps the most popular beach in the bay. Its gentle waves and moderate slope make it ideal for water sports enthusiasts. It also boasts spectacular sunsets.
Caletilla: Extremely popular beach because it is so safe. It is also the site of the New Magical Sea World, a center of marine displays.
Icacos: Extensive beach with different types of waves, excellent for swimming, particularly in the morning.
Isla de la Roqueta: Its beaches are calm and safe for swimming. You can either go snorkeling or visit the zoo with exotic species. Just one kilometer south of Caleta and Caletilla. Visiting the island is one of the most traditional activities in Acapulco.
La Condesa: Internationally renowned beach with medium slope and medium to strong waves. It is a favorite meeting place for young water sports enthusiasts.
