Immunization is not an absolute requirement for travelling in Mexico. It is always safe to avoid jungle areas while travelling with kids and pregnant women. Also, make sure to carry sun-creams and sun-block as Mexico’s hot climate can cause serious ailments. Some of the most common ailments travellers experience in Mexico is turista, altitude sickness, heat exhaustion and sun burn.

Mexico has an excellent network of doctors, hospital, dentists and other medical services. Many of Mexican pharmacies operate round-the-clock. It is advisable to obtain travel health insurance before visiting and always make sure to carry an insurance ID card and emergency numbers while travelling.

Mexico’s cities, beaches and resorts are safe places to visit. Petty crimes like pick-pocketing are prevalent in certain areas. The safest way to travel in Mexico is as part of a tour group.
