Guadalajara is a culturally rich place and is known as a pearl of Mexico. It has numerous markets, streets and restaurants selling varieties of mouth-watering, delicious local cuisines which no one can resist while in Guadalajara.
Wherever in Guadalajara, one is bound to find a delicious meal in one of the restaurants that are located in the city. Among the most typical dishes are the birria, a stew of kid or lamb on a spicy sauce, served with slices of onions, lemons and tortillas. The list of typical dishes also includes the pozole, a clear soup made up of chicken or pork, pipian, a sauce of pumpkin, peanuts and sesame. The characteristic dish of Guadalajara named as tortas ahogadas prepared from bread called bolilo and stuffed with pork and huge amount of spicy sauce is worth trying. Along with these traditional dishes, one can also go with some of the very famous Mexican drinks such as tequila, Agua de Horchata.
