Guadalajara Cathedral

Guadalajara Cathedral, also known as Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady is located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico dominating the skyline of downtown in Centro Historico. It is basically a Roman Catholic cathedral and is built in the Renaissance style, with neo-gothic towers.  The construction of the cathedral started back in 1568 dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The interior consists of 9 altars and three chapels.

The cathedral is one of the popular landmarks of Guadalajara and is one of the most visited tourist attraction, catching attention of large number of tourists around the Mexico. On the loft above the main entrance is kept the 19th century French organ which is one of the largest organs in Mexico.  Once there visitors must not miss taking a look at the mural The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. It’s a beautiful structure and a place worth visiting when in Guadalajara.
