Get to know the rules, regulations, and entry requirements as you are travelling to a foreign land. Always keep your family members informed about your whereabouts.
Avoid getting in trouble with the Mexican police as they can impose harsh penalties on foreigners for unruly behaviour. Take the warning flags on beaches as serious indicators of bad weather and stay away from the beaches at such times.
Do not carry any weapon as even a pocketknife may get you in trouble with the authorities. Driving without a valid license may mean paying huge penalties, and be sure to carry all your insurance papers.
The air pollution in Guadalajara and Mexico City is high especially from the month of December until May and along with the high altitude of the place; it could affect travellers who already have respiratory problems.
