With something like 26 beaches on 34 miles of coastline, top beaches' choice also depends on your pursuits for enjoyment! The best beach to get away from it all is San Pancho, an hour north of Puerto Vallarta; it combines the best ingredients, a wide, pristine white sand beach plus a neat, small town to discover!
For a day trip the increasingly popular beach is Sayulita: there are spectacular views, a peaceful beach with lovely food and drink, hiking and horseback riding trails, paragliding and an enchanting waterfall!
Then there's the beautiful Playa Mismaloya where you can avail yourself of the best hotel services and, at the same time, enjoy the public beach. It's a prime spot also for offshore adventures!
At the Los Arcos, a protected rock formation, you'll find a wonderful spot for snorkelling and diving! For the diversity of water sports very appreciated is Playa De Oro beach, a wide sandy beach with a few rocky areas: it's very popular among both tourists and locals,while Los Muertos beach is the most popular in Puerto Vallarta because it is funky and wildly popular!
In the evenings you can also enjoy the music played by mariachi along the beach!
