The Ciudad Deportiva Magdalena Mixhuca is a major sports venue on the outskirts of Mexico City. In fact it is referred to colloquially as the sports city, which gives you some idea of both its size and its status. In fact it is the largest such complex in Latin America. It is the home of much of the first class sporting action within the country and on occasion it can be a great place to visit to catch a match be that: football, volleyball, basketball or track and field events.
The Sports City is just outside the main entrance of the station line 9 sports city stop and can be reached fairly easily by Mexico city’s sometimes-all-too-fallible public transport system. There has recently been some fairly major renovation work and it is possible that this will be ongoing when you arrive so its important to check ahead if you want to avoid delays and disappointment.
