The Plaza de Armas Craft Market is one great place to spend a morning circulating amongst the ragtag types of this fascinating city.  Mexico is increasingly joining the jet set of world economies.  As a consequence traditional handicraft is disappearing.  If folk objects are a passion of yours the plaza de Armas known to the world for being one of the mayor squares of the world a milieu of small stands, kiosks and improvised street peddlers crowd every inch of space. The famous fete of Cinoc de Mayo is the best period to go.

On show you a find all the world famous Mexican religious iconography, coloured with the country’s pathos, that spread an atmosphere of subtle joy and understanding between the vendor and the buyer. bargaining is not only something to be attempted but it is part of the Mexican street culture. If you look like a tourist try and get the price down to at least to half of the original one.
