Morelos, Mexico has an area of 4,950 sq km and a population of about 1,612,900. Its capital is Cuernavaca.
Morelos, one of the smallest states in Mexico, is bordered by the states of México, Puebla and Guerrero. Situated in the Mexican central plateau, the state is surrounded by forested mountain ranges and river valleys.
Morelos was home to Indian tribes such as the Nahuans, Toltecs and the Aztecs after which it was occupied by the Spanish. The population here is mainly Mestizo (mixed indigenous and foreign ancestry).
Tepoztlan is beautiful, is a very tourist friendly town with amazing nature, food and people.
