Tepoztlan is a small peaceful town in the state of Morelos, Mexico. The town is serviced by regular buses from the state capital Cuernavaca (located 20 km away) and country’s capital Mexico City (located 70 km away).
Tepoztlan is about 1,700 m above seal level and lies at the foothills of Sierra del Chichinautzin. The Tepozteco National Park with its flora and fauna is also located nearby.
A semitropical climate exists in the region. Humidity levels are rather low, with average year-round temperatures staying at around 20°C; the rainy season extends from May to October. The weather is ideal for the cultivation of exotic fruits and vegetables.
The population of Tepoztlan is around 35,000. New Age, Karma and other forms of health rejuvenation are practiced here, which draws a lot of tourists all year round.
