Oaxaca, nicknamed Verde Antequera, is the capital city of the diverse Oaxaca state in southern Mexico. It is located amidst the Sierra Madre Del Sur Mountains in the Valley of Oaxaca.
The city, declared Humanity’s Cultural Patrimony by the UNESCO, attracts many visitors because of its rich culture and calm ambience as well as the plethora of historic attractions that it offers.
Warm days and cool nights greet you in Oaxaca. The city, with an altitude of around 1500 m above sea level, has an average temperature of around 18°C, and gets its due share of rainfall in the months between July–October.
Oaxaca has a population of more than 250,000 people. It has a small airport called Oaxaca-Xoxocotlan Airport with flights to Mexico City and nearby regions. Bus connections require at least basic knowledge in Spanish.
