Pachuca has a plethora of monuments to keep you enthralled. Begin your tour with the beautiful Church of the Assumption, built at the time of the city’s founding, and the national Museo de Fotografia, which houses over a million photographic archives from Mexico and abroad.

The sixteenth-century Ex-Convent of San Francisco is now the Hidalgo Cultural Centre, also housing the Regional Historic Museum. The ex-convent also has a spectacular 40-m central clock called the Reloj Monumental Clock Tower, which dominates the city centre with its French-neoclassical look.

Pachuca has no shortage of festivals and fairs. The Pachuca Fair in October and the Day of the Virgen de Guadalupe on 12 December are two of Pachuca’s important events.
