Puebla, officially called Puebla de Zaragoza, is the capital of and largest city in the state of Puebla, Mexico. It is 100 km south-east of Mexico City and is located in the broad Puebla Valley, surrounded on four sides by high mountains.
Summers are sunny with the mercury hovering between 21°C–27°C, while the winter season tends to be quite chilly with the thermometer pointing below 5°C at times.
Founded in 1531, Puebla is one of the oldest Spanish cities in Mexico. In 1987, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City. One can arrive at this historic site from Mexico City International Airport with buses leaving for Puebla every half hour.
Puebla has a population of 150,000 people, who known as Poblanos. The city is an important cultural and industrial hub for the region; its economy is focused on textile manufacturing.
