Tourist Guide Queretaro
Queretaro or “Santiago de Queretaro” is the capital of the state of Queretaro in Central Mexico. The name Queretaro is used to refer to both the state and the city. The city is situated about 257 kilometers towards the Northwest of Mexico City. This place is renowned for blue salamanders. The elevation of this place is 1820 meters above sea level. The Queretaro State is divided into four to five regions. Out of these, the municipalities of Santiago de Queretaro, Huimilpan, El Marques and the City of Corregidora are included in the region called Valle de Queretaro. This is the part of the Central Mexican plains called as Bajio. It is also called as Central Queretaro. The other regions are called as Valle de San Juan, Semidesierto, Sierra Gorda and Sierra Queretana.
The average yearly temperature of Queretaro is 66 degrees Fahrenheit and the average annual precipitation is 21.6 inches.
As per the 2005 census, the population of Queretaro was 734,139.
