There are two beaches in Akumal. In the center of the town is the main beach at Akumal Bay and this is regarded as one of the best beaches around. Towards the North of Akumal is the Half Moon Bay. Towards the South of Akumal, there are three other bays which are considered as part of Akumal and these also have beaches. They are called as Aventuras Akumal, South Akumal and Jade Beach.
