Tulum Pueblo
Few years ago this village was a serene village about 2 km from the archaeological site and the tourism was restricted to few shops and cabanas along the beach. But now this place expanded and has about 10,000 inhabitants and is the commercial center attracting large number of tourists.
The temple of the descending God
The Mayan civilization believed in a number of gods and in Tulum they admired the descending god and hence its figures were included as a part on the entrances and structures of the Pyramids. There are numerous depictions and wall paintings of different gods incluing gods of rain, fish, sun and corn.
