Tourist guide Mazatlán

Mazatlan, in Sinaloa, is the state’s second largest city. It was discovered in the year 1820. With a population of over 400,000, it is also referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Pacific’. ‘Mazatlan’ means ‘place of the deer’ in its native language. Unlike most other resorts, Mazatlan has developed into an industrial city in addition to being a tourism centre.

The enviable climate in Mazatlan is warm with adequate sunshine throughout the year. It rains occasionally in the period from July to September. The climatic conditions are favourable for tourism as well as the industrial growth of the city.

In the nineteenth century, Mazatlan was an assortment of huts with a population of around 500 people, whose major occupation was fishing. After the Mexican-American war, Mazatlan became a part of Mexico.
