Tourist Guide Heroica Matamoros
Known also as Heroica Matamoros, Matamoros city is situated in the northeast of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. This city is almost 1,000 kilometers away from the Mexico City and was originally known as “Villa del Refugio”.
This city depicts colorful and exciting life of Mexico, bustling with friendly people and having museums, streets and shopping markets crowded. The city is rich in history and culture, with wonderful places to see like the Plaza Hidalgo and the Casa Mata Museum.
Other than the locals, tourists can visit the place for its numerous sights worth exploring. Some of the sights include the Great Gate into Mexico Monument, the Matamoros Catholic Cathedral, the Olympic Culture Center, the Bagdad Beach and many of its streets lined with shops. However, the best thing to do whilst here is to attend festivals that are held each month or to shop endlessly at some of the shopping centres and street markets.
