Tijuana, situated on the U.S.-Mexico border, is the largest city of Baja California, Mexico. The city’s motto is ‘Aquí Empieza La Patria’, or the homeland starts here. Owing to the extensive area and diverse population, Tijuana’s population counts are debated. However, it is estimated to house over one million people.
Tijuana enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild summers and moderate winters. Temperatures in winter rarely reach the freezing level, and the winters are mostly dry. In Tijuana, most of the rainfall is received during winters due to its Mediterranean nature.
Tijuana showed early signs of development in the twentieth century with large groups of Californians flocking here for trade and entertainment, thus encouraging the tourism industry. Since, it has also become increasingly industrialised.
