Tourist guide Coba

Coba can be described as a big ‘cleaned out city’ which belongs to ‘Pre-Columbian Maya Civilization’; situated in Quintana Roo State, Mexico.

Coba lies at the distance of 90 Km on the eastern side of Chichen Itza, i.e. one of the sites of Mayas’; at around 40 Km on the western side of Caribbean Sea, and 44 Km on the north-western side of Tulum; through which it has been linked by contemporary road.

Coba is situated around 2 lagoons. A chain of plaster and elevated stone roads happen to radiate through ‘central site’ towards numerous petite sites further as well as in vicinity of Coba.

Coba had not been examined till 1920s by scholars. In the year 1926, one of the amateur explorers, i.e. Dr. Thomas Gann had been brought to this site by certain localites. Eric Thompson made innumerable visits to the given site in the year 1932. In the same year, he carried out detailed description.

Population of Coba has been estimated to be 50000.
