Galeria Merida is owned by partners Paula Seivert of New York and Ivan R. de Leon, a professional photographer from Merida. It is the largest privately owned gallery in Mérida and specializes in art by the local Yucatecans. The shows change every 4 to 6 weeks with four major shows annually around the equinoxes and solstices. The exhibits include painting, sculpture, garden sculpture, multimedia and photography. The gallery also houses two patio gardens showing outdoor sculptures. The gallery also has a boutique with smaller art pieces for sale.
