Located in the Hale County of Alabama in USA and spread over 0.6 square miles of land, Akron has a population of 521 as per the 2005 US census. It lies halfway between Moundville and Eutaw in Alabama.
There are a host of cultural activities which allows the people to spend the quality time in museums and theaters in Akron. There are parks for all the outdoor fun and a host of activities in and around Akron including fishing, hunting, paddling etc. There are a host of local wildlife sanctuaries for bird watching and for viewing the rare plants and animal species in places like the Alabama Wildlife Refuge.
Akron is a wonderful place to indulge in some typical farm activities like apple picking and celebrating the numerous festivals.
