Chickasaw is located in Mobile County of Alabama in United States.
Earlier Chickasaw town was owned by ship building Construction Company. Although the history of Chickasaw dates back to 200 years. The land was inhabited by Native Americans who gave it a name as Chikasha Bogue but the name was not in use and further was anglicized as Chickasaw. With the beginning of the 20th century there was a huge commercial development with railroad shops in Chickasaw.
But it was after the town got incorporated in the year 1946 that firefighting equipment, garbage collection equipment and the disposal plant with parks were donated to the town by the former owners.
Known as a “Bedroom City” the city attracts young and old age dwellers because of its scenic beauty. With some of the distinct features, this city is visited by travelers from across the globe
.
The population of this city according to 2007 census comes to 5,979.
The climate of this place is quite comfortable and can be visited at any time of the year.
