Decatur is located in Morgan County in north Alabama, USA. This city has a population of 55, 778. The area was incorporated as a city in the 1821 and was named after Stephen Decatur.

Decatur can be visited throughout the year. The city enjoys a subtropical climate with hot and humid summers, cool winters and a considerable amount of rainfall during monsoons. The temperature can go to a maximum of 30°C in summer; in winters it may experience a high of approximately 10°C. The topography of the city is diverse as well as picturesque. There are rivers, streams, caverns, mountain peaks, waterfalls and so on.

The city is an important commercial as well as a historic centre. The economy of Decatur is dependent primarily on its tourism, shipping and manufacturing industries. The city was also an important centre during the American Civil War, which further enhances its importance as a tourist destination.
