Not to miss:  Start your tour of Mobile at the Battleship Memorial Park which contains an aircraft pavilion, a USS Drum submarine and the huge USS Alabama Battleship.
The culture of the city can be explored at the Mobile Museum of Art and the Museum of Mobile. Historical buildings include the Oakleigh Historic Complex (a cluster of old buildings), Saenger Theatre (boasting a Greek mythological-style interior) and the Battle House Hotel (which is classified as a city landmark).
Mobile’s event calendar is dominated by the Senior Bowl football game in January, the Azalea Trail Run 10K Race ... More in March and the America’s Junior Miss Pageant in July. Visitors can also enjoy live greyhound racing every night at the Mobile Greyhound Park.
The city is said to be the original home of the Mardi Gras Festival (which lasts for two weeks and ends just before Lent). The various floats and displays used during the festival can be seen at the Mobile Carnival Museum.

General opinion:  Mobile, also called the Port City, is the seat of the Mobile County in Alabama, USA. The city lies on the north-western shore of Mobile Bay and gets its name from the Mobile (Mauvile) Indians that used to inhabit the area at the time of its founding.
One can fly into the city at any of the area’s three airports — Mobile Regional Airport, Pensacola Regional Airport and the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
Mobile has a mild subtropical climate with warm summers and wet winters. The average annual temperature is around 20°C. Tropical storms and hurricanes ... More are a possibility owing to the city’s proximity to the Gulf of Mexico

Mobile has a population of nearly 200,000 people. It is the third most populous city in Alabama and has a growing automobile industry. The Port of Mobile is the largest forest products terminal in the world.
