Mobile, also called the Port City, is the seat of the Mobile County in Alabama, USA. The city lies on the north-western shore of Mobile Bay and gets its name from the Mobile (Mauvile) Indians that used to inhabit the area at the time of its founding.
One can fly into the city at any of the area’s three airports — Mobile Regional Airport, Pensacola Regional Airport and the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
Mobile has a mild subtropical climate with warm summers and wet winters. The average annual temperature is around 20°C. Tropical storms and hurricanes are a possibility owing to the city’s proximity to the Gulf of Mexico
Mobile has a population of nearly 200,000 people. It is the third most populous city in Alabama and has a growing automobile industry. The Port of Mobile is the largest forest products terminal in the world.
