Tourist Guide Prattville
Prattville is located in Autauga County in Alabama. It is also known as ‘The Fountain City’ due to the many artesian wells found in the area. The city is named after its founder, Daniel Pratt, a well known industrialist and architect.
Prattville covers an area of 61.9 sq km and has a population of around 25,000.
Prattville enjoys long hot summers and short mild winters. Temperatures range from 26°C in summer to 4°C in winter. Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year. Occasional snowfall is also experienced.
Prattville is a popular golf destination and is one of the stops on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Trail. The historic downtown Prattville attracts a crowd of 18,000 in the first weekend of May for the CityFest. Also, the annual Mardi Gras Parade attracts throngs of people in February.
