Sylacauga is a city situated in Alabama in United States. According to the census recorded in 2000 the population was 12,616.It is also known by its nickname as "The Marble City" or "Buzzard's Roost". According to the Census Bureau, the city is supposed to have a total area of 18.7 square miles out of which, 18.5 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles of it is water. Sylacauga has a very huge deposit of the world's whitest marble which has constantly been found since the last 100 years. It is the richest reserve for white marbles in whole world. Sylacauga is considered to be a very important location for manufacturing purpose. In addition, Sylacauga is also famous for progressive industries, manufacturing fertilizers, color printing and packaging, marble, granite, various alloys and numerous others. It is also famous for automobile trading too.
