Tourist Guide Wetumpka
Wetumpka is a city located in the Elmore County in Alabama. According to the 2006 census, the population was recorded to be around 15,726. Even though it is one of the smallest cities in Alabama it is the third fastest developing county in the state. Wetumpka holds itself as "The City of Natural Beauty" because of its natural beauty and artistic landscapes. Among the famous landmarks are the Wetumpka crater and also the Jasmine Gardens, which is a complete replica of the Temple of Hera in Greece. The name "Wetumpka" has an official meaning "rumbling waters”. According to the American Census Bureau, the city is supposed to have a total area of 8.9 square miles out of which, 8.5 square miles is land and 0.4 square miles of it is water. The city sits at the joint of the two rivers Tallapoosa and Coosa where they combine with the Alabama River. The city is situated on the northern outskirts of the Fall Line which is responsible for much of its natural beauty. Winters are generally adding to its wonderful climate.
