Wetumpka is very well known for its adventurous sports that attract many tourists. Wetumpka and the Coosa River are the host places for the point to point race called the Coosa River Challenge. This began in 2003 and regularly attracts near about 150 to 200 enthusiasts who take a lot of interest in this event. Wetumpka is also a known for the water sports attracting even more enthusiasts from all over the country who enjoy travelling and enjoying down the river the city hosts the annual Coosa River Whitewater Festival once in a year or so. The famous Jasmine garden is considered to be adding beauty to this small town and is situated on the western side of the city. Wetumpka crater is also located here which has achieved country wide response due to its activities. Travelling in Wetumpka is quite easy because of the well-equipped transportation facilities and various modes of transport that is roadways and railways.
