Get up close and personal with the Alaska State Troopers of yesterday and today at the museum with displays dating back to the departments origins in 1941. See their progression from the days of old when antique handcuffs, leg irons and antique radios were used to the modern technology of today that keeps them in step with covering and protecting the vast expansive territory of Alaska and the challenges the rugged terrain presents to them.
Uniforms and law enforcement patches are also on display as well as a restored 1951 Hudson Hornet car, ideal for high-speed chases and made for comfort while working long hours. There is no admission fee at the museum open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4 and Saturdays from noon to 4.
