Earthquake Park is a designated Anchorage area that shows the destruction caused by the 1964 earthquake. The area where the park is situated was an affluent residential area situated on the bluffs and got completely destroyed by the 9.2 earthquake.
The force of the earthquake was such powerful that the homes were dropped into 30 feet crevasses and the entire area was destroyed within seconds. A year later, the park was open to mark as a memorial for those who cherished on this natural calamity.
