Appropriately named for its location “by the sea”, the definition of Sitka in located in the Mountain View neighborhood. The park offers a perfect sledding hill, playground equipment for tots including swings, sheltered picnic tables for enjoying a meal in the Alaskan fresh air, a trail winding near the Chester Creek running waters and an open field to throw around a Frisbee or play ball. Restrooms are available May through September. For nearby nourishment, there is Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant, Moose’s Tooth for pizza and a beer or Steve’s Sports Bar for billards, darts and other indoor games and libations.
