Tourist Guide Cordova

Located serenely at the top of the Orca Bay, within the Chugach National Forest, Cordova hasan aura of its own. It is geographically diverse. The city is surrounded by Glacier Mountains and wetland.

This place has population of 2454 according to Census 2000. Earlier to this, the place has been home to the Alutiiq, later on natives from the Athabascan’s and Tlingit migrated and they were claimed to be the Eyaks.

The town of Cordova was named by the Michael Heney in the year 1906.

It became the railroad terminus and ocean shipping harbor for copper ore.

Fishing is carried out as a profit building activity by the people of the community and is a part of their culture.

Canning and tourism also contribute to the economy.
