Homer Spit is a narrow 4.5 mile of long gravel bar which extends into the bay. Homer Spit is also a geographical landmark located in Homer and the spit is home to the Homer Boat Harbor. This spit sits about 19 feet above the sea level and this makes it susceptible to any storm surge. The Homer Spit features the longest road into the ocean waves in the world and it takes almost 15 minutes to cover by car.
