Tourist Guide Willow
Willow can be described as a CDP, i.e. census-designated place located in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, US. It’s, in fact, portion of Anchorage, Alaska Metropolitan Statistical Area.
As per US Census Bureau, Willow’s total area is of 1794.5 sq. Km; out of which 1.16%25 consists of water.
This community got started in the year 1897. It was the time when miners went on to discover gold upon Willow Creek. Boats and ships brought equipment and supplies up ‘Cook Inlet’. Thereby having landed at Tyonek or Knik. From the latter one, a summer trail of around 26 miles went towards the northwest. Trail which headed towards the east got named as ‘Hatcher Pass Road’ later. At present, it’s one of the most adventurous scenic roads used at the time of ‘summer tour season’.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Willow was 1658; with its density being o.9 per sq. Km.
