Situated in Carter County in Oklahoma, USA, the city of Ardmore is located south of the Arbuckle Mountains and at the eastern margin of the Healdton Basin. Surrounded by seven lakes, it covers a total area of 129.5 sq. km.
Originally part of the land assigned to the Chickasaw Indians, the city of Ardmore was born in 1887. The construction of the Santa Fe railroad marked the beginning of the city.
Ardmore has a seasonal climate and is known as being ‘on the sunny side of Arbuckle’. The winters are usually mild, with an average temperature of 5°C. The summers are warm, with an average temperature of 30°C.
With a population of around 25,000, the city has now grown into a trading centre. Located in one of Oklahoma’s most scenic areas, the city offers a wide range of recreational activities.
